Resume=Arthur Fleck is a wannabe stand-up comic who suffers from many mental illnesses, including one which causes him to laugh uncontrollably when he is nervous, and often gets him into bad situations. I'm a big marvel this must be my favorite superhero movie... The acting, the music, just amazing.

This scene alone made Jared Leto look like a joke. Joker final scene. Get Joaquin on hot ones so he can have a real interview. Joker ending scene. Joker rotten tomatoes. This is so interesting! But even rewatching that it pains me so much to see such inequality and harm being done to someone who already has a broken soul. It shakes me to my core and almost makes me cry and the whole entire time I was watching the movie, I just felt like I wanted to help him so he can feel better and not be mistreated so badly by society and pretty much everyone around him. This is why this movie is so unsettling in a way because everyone's sense of justice kicks in but when you think it can't get worse for Arthur he finds out his adoptive mother abused him and I think that's where it's the end of Arthur and beginning of Joker. Because finding out his mum, the person that he probably loves most, isn't his real mum and then abused him on top of that, that ultimately broke him, understandably. So, I completely understand why he turns out the way he is with becoming Joker but then unsettling for the viewer again is that he starts to kill people, which is highly unsettling because it is morally wrong. And I think this is the reason why this movie stays in our minds for so long because we're trying to balance the injustice done to him and his ultimate reaction to it.

Before watching the movie, I thought that whoever plays Joker has big shoes to fill - Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. But Joaquin Phoenix absolutely embodies the deep troubles and the contempt that Joker has for society, and he does an outstanding job.
Yes, the movie is dark. But dark is what led Joker to be Joker.
In Forrest Gump, one thing that made it good was Tom Hank's acting. The same is true of Joaquin Phoenix in Joker.
Just an outstanding, unpredictable, entertaining, and accurate portrayal of the deep, dark past of Joker. I'm so happy they made this movie - I never before really understood why the Joker is the way he is.
